The Rorschach method for obesity assessment: clinical study on a group of obese women

SUMMARY. Aim. The purpose of this study is to explore through the Rorschach method the psychological and personological profile of the woman with obesity. Methods. The Rorschach test was administered to 10 women with body mass index of 41.86±9.9 kg/m2 at the clinic for obesity surgical treatment at the University Hospital “Paolo Giaccone” of Palermo. Results. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the Rorschach responses detected in the study show: limited practical and creative sense in managing daily life situations, rigid control of emotions, affective turmoil, sense of inadequacy; sufficient examination of reality and adaptation social. Se presenta el perfil de habilidades psicológicas y su poder predictivo sobre el éxito deportivo en taekwondistas universitarios de competición. Para ello se evaluó una muestra representativa de 89 taekwondistas (50 hombres y 39 mujeres) con edades entre 18 y 34 años (M = 22,2; DT = 3,34) que competían en el Campeonato de España Universitario 2011. Goals To explore affective and cognitive status, later in life, in individuals with and without previous history of eating disorder (ED), and also its association with higher risk for metabolic syndrome (MetS) symptomatology. Methods A cross-sectional analysis of 6756 adults, aged 55-75 years with overweight/obesity and MetS participating in the Predimed-Plus study was conducted. Participants completed self-reported questionnaires to examine lifetime history of ED, according to DSM-5 criteria, and other psychopathological and neurocognitive factors.
